The printer will not do a wireless setup installation if the ink cartridges (which was received and was included with the printer) are not properly installed. You can tell this by the alarm lamp flashing four to five times. They really have to be snapped in tight, and you’ll hear them click. Error – Canon IJ Driver Installer Has Stopped Working.
First of all, make sure that you have installed the printer and Fax drivers successfully on your system. This error is a result of incomplete installations caused because of the failure in copying and accessing all the files required to complete the Canon IJ Setup driver installation.
Follow below steps to Re-install the drivers successfully and resolve this error:
Go to the Start Menu and Click on “Settings, Devices, Printers & Scanners.”
Locate the Printers and Scanners area and turn off “Let Windows Manage my default printer”. Some system may have a different naming for this same option like “manage printer by windows”.
Restart your system.
Re-Install the drivers.
Error – Printer stopped working after installing a new Modem for WIFI use.
Since new modem has a new Username and new ID Canon printer is not able to connect to the new settings of your modem. Basically you may need to re-install the canon IJsetup drivers to make sure that new username and ID is found during the installation process of the drivers.
You will need to initialize the printer machine settings to set the network settings back to the default, then re-enable the wireless setting of the printer and reinstall the drivers, please follow the next steps:
- Press and hold the STOP button and release it once the Alarm lamp is flashed 21 times. This will initialize the machine settings.
- Next step is to turn off the printer and unplug the power cord. Wait for 10 minutes or so and then plug it back in and turn it back on.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button, then release it when the ON lamp flashes.
- Press the COLOR button once and then press the Wi-Fi button. The wireless LAN setting of the printer will be enabled.
- On your computer system, re-install the driver for your printer and follow the instructions given on the installation guide.
